Ueno Urban Hotel

The room and hotel was nice enough for what it was: a short one night stay close to Ueno station so that I could have a direct train line the next morning out to the airport. Clean, nice staff, good location close to a lot of restaurants, activities, Ueno park, shopping, etc.

Chose this location vs. Tokyo station (which is more complex and longer walking distance to hotel), since this is only one stop away. Walking distance from hotel (take the Iriya exit from Ueno Station) with proper lift and ramps available; self check-in process was fast, room is small but cosy, writing table is cramped, not much usable space; good soundproof of the building, comfortable bed, slept well. Has a few convenience stores across the street. Nearby attraction Ueno Zoological Garden; attractive rate for its location

The location was excellent. It was literally a five minute walk from the Ueno Station. It was also super easy to get a taxi from the crosswalk nearest to the hotel. There is a 7/11 across the street and there is a Family Mart on the way to the station. Since it is right by Ueno zoo, it is easy to set aside time to walk to the zoo for a fun day trip. The staff were super friendly and spoke English very well. The times where there was miscommunication I pulled out Google Translate on my phone. There is a washer and dryer at this hotel. I will 100% stay here again.

Quite good location but a short distance to walk inside the station to the JR or Metro line. We didn’t get the room with the sky tree view maybe due to the room type that we booked.

Location very convenient as a base to explore Tokyo and beyond as there are JR line, metro and shinkansen direct from Ueno Stn. Less than 5 mins walk from Iriya exit of Ueno station. Also very convenient to drag ur luggages around as there are slope/escalators up to the exit so u don’t have to drag ur luggages up & down stairs. Also very near to Ameyokocho where there are lots of restaurants and places to shop (Donki, Matsumoto Kiyoshi etc)

The room had a stunning view of Tokyo Skytree and Mt Fuji (on clear days). Room was also spotlessly clean and well kept during my stay. There are also washing machines and dryers in the hotel that are exceptionally cheap. Staff was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Location was great, short walk to Ueno Station.

The staff was very helpful even not speaking English. I had a light issue and they used a translator to help understand me and get it taken care of.

The room was very cozy, it fitted perfectly for the two of us. The service men at the reception were extremely attentive and kind. The location is also very convenient walking from Ueno Station. This is my second time staying here and I would do it again.

The position near Ueno and its JR station was very convenient for us during our stay. The staff was very helpful, allowed us to leave our luggage before check in time and after check out. The check in was done easily on the born at the front of the reception desk. The room was quite small but very comfortable with a small desk.

One of the staff was an elderly gentleman who went above and beyond. He helped me check out at 10PM, and called a taxi for me, all with being so polite and kind. Great location, 5 minute walk from Ueno station's Irigaya exit.
